Long Term Surfboard hire is where it all started. It was our original concept, it epitomises what we are about at Global Surfing Services.
We realised that there are a number of very big issues traveling surfers face today. We also realised that many of these issues could be solved simply by running a service oriented surf board hire business. Some of these issues included:
- The airlines do not want to carry surfboard as luggage anymore. So they either charge ridiculous fees or ban them from their flights
- Even when airlines do carry them, they show little care in handling, often resulting in damage such as dings and broken fins.
- Surf shops only open their doors when the best surf is blown out.
- Surf shops only rent their boards out for short periods of time (half a day to 1 day)
- Surf shops charge more to rent a surf board than it costs to rent a car for a day
- The quality of surfboards on offer for renting is appalling.
- When you are new to a location, it is often difficult to find the hire shops.
So we developed our surfboard hire business concept that endeavoured to resolve all these issues.

- You can view all the surf boards available at a location on the operators website. So you know what surfboard are on offer
- You can pre book your surf board (in fact, we encourage it) so you know exactly what board you will be riding when you arrive.
- We only deal in long term hire, ensuring we can rent a board to you for your entire holiday at a reasonable price
- As you have a surfboard on hand for your entire holiday, you can get up early and catch all the best waves.
- We offer a convenient delivery and pick up service if you need it (check your location, delivery hours may vary)
- As we are all surfers, we make sure the board you ride is of a level of quality that we would be happy to ride ourselves.
